FAQ’s

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on the type of tattoo, ink colour, and placement. Body tattoos typically requires between 6–12 sessions for full removal, while SPMU eyebrow removal may take around 2–5 sessions.

During your consultation Abigail Jade will assess your tattoo or SPMU and provide a personalized treatment plan.

Does laser tattoo removal hurt?

Laser removal can cause some discomfort, often described as similar to the sensation of a rubber band snapping against the skin. For SPMU eyebrow removal, the treatment area is smaller, so discomfort is typically minimal and brief. You may apply your own numbing cream 30 minutes prior to the appointment if needed.

Are there side effects?

Temporary side effects can include redness, swelling, and minor blistering. These typically subside within a few days.

Can all colors be removed?

The ND:YAG laser is highly effective on a range of ink colors, including black, blue, red, and green. SPMU pigments, including brow pigments, often respond well to treatment, though results may vary depending on the pigment’s composition and depth. Lighter colors, such as white or yellow, may require additional sessions or fade less completely.

Can laser removal damage my natural brows?

When removing SPMU eyebrow tattoos, the ND:YAG laser is precisely targeted to break down the pigment without harming the surrounding skin or hair follicles. Your natural eyebrow hair will remain unaffected. However, sometimes the hairs may look white or bleached immediately after treatment. This is a temporary effect caused by dehydration from the laser and will resolve as the hairs regain moisture over the following hours - days.

Is it possible to fade SPMU brows instead of completely removing them?

Yes, the laser can be used to lighten SPMU brows, making them suitable for a correction or cover-up. Abigail Jade can advise on the best approach during your consultation.
